Some fun images of favorite things lying around the house:

Potato plant! Isn't it amazing what happens when you stick a potato in water? It's PURE CRAZINESS!

I got this funny little radio in the Philippines a few years back--it's just a cardboard box with little plastic parts and a famous local singer on the front. I (heart) this! I wish all electronics looked homemade. Wouldn't that be awesome?
This is the little "altar" in the hallway of my house...a funny mix of Catholicism and witchcraft (like a true Filipino hybrid). Most of the witchy stuff I got also during my last trip to the homeland. By the famous Quiapo church in Manila are stalls and stalls of amulets, potions, and witch ladies who make little warders away of evil for you to buy, made out of bits of sewn plastic and herbs. Here lies representatives of two generations of my family (also in true Filipino style, it's customary to divide up a person's ashes to each member of the family so everyone gets a little bit). Besides, who doesn't want granma and great-granma with you always? :)

I'm inspired to experiment with a potato plant now... as for that Judy Ann Santos radio and amulet from the motherland, let's just say Filipinos are uniquely resourceful. What say you?
