meet jufran
Just for kicks, this will be the first of my "odd product endorsement" posts, where I extoll the virtues of little-known items that tickle my fancy...

Item #1: JUFRAN BANANA KETCHUP
99 cents and up
Yes, it's super yummy, goes good on over-easy fried eggs, and can be found at most Asian grocery stores nationwide (providing they stock on Filipino foods). Believe you me, once you've done Jufran, you will never go back to the vinegary-tasting "plain" ketchup you Westerners live by. Add a dash of fruity-flavored goodness and bring home a taste of the tropics to your refrigerator now!
(I am not kidding, this is not a joke--Jufran rocks!)

is the banana flavor very strong?? i'm quite a lover of the ketchups...i'll have to find some jufran of my own!
Actually, I'm not really into banana flavors, either...I guess Jufran is more on the "chutney" sort of side--like, it's more savory and sweet than regular ketchup, and has a thicker texture like chutney. Come to think of it, if it didn't say "banana sauce" on the bottle, that wouldn't be the first flavor that would come to mind...I would even consider using it as a marinade (whereas I wouldn't marinate in ketchup!).
Really, if you can find it, try it--it comes in spicy and non-spicy, and they're both good!
huwaww! kick ass webdesign and content. aylabeeet!
i thought jufran stopped calling it ketchup since it's not really made out of tomatos?
I was just thinking how much I love Jufran. I came online to google it to find a t-shirt with which I may display my approval, and your blog was the first item returned. Congrats.
Long Live Jufran!
