forthcoming...
hi ladies and germs,
i've needed a short break...haven't posted new items to the store in about a week or so, but have been busily sewing at the studio. I have about 15 new things that i hope to get up by the weekend, so sit tight! in the meantime, here's a pic of my strange new "Bauhaus textile" made on my knitting machine. It's sort of an homage to teenage music posters, as well as the German 1930's art movement, only incredibly "handmade". It's weird, but I like it...it was originally going to be art, but maybe it's better as a bedspread, ha ha :) it's about 7 feet wide and super cozy!

and i love watching tv and using the knitting machine!

Bauhaus is playing here soon. I'm considering going, but it's something like 8 million dollars. Anyway, what a punk bedspread! :)
oh my goodness, i want to curl up with peter murphy :)
this has probably been asked before, but what kind of knitting machine are you using? are you manually going by a graph or is the image programmed into it? the possibilities seem endless and amazing!!!
jenne: i'm using a manual brother knitting machine from the 80s that my mom handed down to me...it's the kind where you have to use a graph and manually do everything--ouch! needless to say, even making the pattern was horrific, but i did it in Adobe Illustrator using a jpg downloaded from the internet of Bauhaus. The yarn is from odds and ends (mostly wool), hence the "patchy" look, but i think it makes it look blocky and retro "bauhaus-y" too. seriously, i got obsessed and spent a good week working on it nonstop. ;p
Okay STEPHANIE!!!!!! that spread is soooooooo AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x 1 million!!! :) Could you knit a sweater with a picture of a group on the front for example O.M.D? If so how much would you charge for that :) hee hee
oh I didn't mean their faces actually, just like a picture of the cover of one of their albulms [dazzle ships for example] :)
