crochet stand-off

stumbled across pics of the 2002 "Fastest Crocheter" competition in NYC...turns out a little lady by the name of Lily Chin stole the title from her competitor, with a total of 92.5 double crochet stitches made in three minutes. THREE MINUTES! like, I'm a totally fast crocheter, but that is ridiculous! Lord, could you imagine the items this woman could make if only we harnessed her up to a giant yarn spool? anyhoo, i like the fact that it looks like there are like, a total of five really attentive middle-aged women sitting around on a NYC street corner watching the whole thing. and check out Lily's crocheted fringy cardigan and holsters full of crochet needles...
