hi everyone, sorry i've been so quiet and not posting anything lately. The new school year started, and with it my commute to both Oakland (to the CCA campus) and Palo Alto (Stanford) which takes up a good 3 days out of my week now. So much shuffling of papers and getting syllabi ready, xeroxing things, reorganizing slide presentations, etc. Anyhow, the first week is over (almost 2 for Stanford already!) and so now i'm a bit less hectic...let me stress the "bit" less hectic part.

first off, it looks like i won't have new items in the anti-factory store for another week or so...thanks to everyone who's been so supportive of the new designs...i promise there's more to come! i'm in the middle of getting new things made and i just dropped off a bunch of stuff to hopefully participate in a photoshoot for Readymade Magazine. Hey, didn't i just sort of cap on that magazine in one of my last posts? well, i guess when they ask to include me in a photoshoot it's hard to say no (i'm such a sucker). they're doing a spread on recycled/reused fashion and hobbyhorse boutique in berkeley has teamed up with a bunch of local DIY fashion folks to participate. watch for it! we're all crossing our fingers that this will actually go through, and there's some talk that it won't even involve a "proper" fashion shoot and just have mannequins modelling the items, which would actually kind of suck because it's not the most exciting way to show off the wares. oh well! can't say no to good publicity, of course :D

i have a big studio visit with an undisclosed group of folks happening in a week, so i'm in the middle of getting my artwork in order and making things presentable. i've been toying with a new photo/video series of works that involve downloading images from the internet and creating small dioramas out of them that get placed in "real world" settings, and then turned into either static video shots or large-scale photos. don't ask me yet what all the particulars are about, except that i guess i can say i'm interested in the mediated image and certain irreconcilable differences between existing in the First and Third worlds. "Hmmmmm....?" you may ask...well, let's see what happens, is all i can say!
