trash talkin'

Who doesn't like to hurl a little verbal trash every now and then--especially when it comes to celebrity outfits and the like? Have a super fun time cudddling up to these blogs:

Go Fug Yourself blog. Trash, trash, trash. I love it. It's like when I go to msn.com or yahoo.com after a major celebrity event like the Golden Globes or the Academy Awards and they do the expose on who had the best and worst outfits. A total trainwreck, yes it is!

Counterfeit Chic
blog. Written by a copyright lawyer and focused on issues of authenticity and "copying" primarily in the fashion industry, it smacks of a guilty-pleasures project by a professor who really would rather be shopping as opposed to giving that lecture. You go, girl!

Shangri-Law blog. Yay! More lawyers (or at least, Yale law school students) writing about fashion! Snarky and funny and elitist, it is a fabulous treck into the twisted minds of ladies who want their martinis, Manolos, and high-power law practices as well...Go academe! Kick some fashionionable butt with a smile.

Oh, and thanks to the Shangri-Law gals, i now know about the fire that destroyed the Rem Koolhas-designed Prada boutique on Broadway in Manhattan...It seems like $5 MILLION in spring merchandise went up in smoke. Which is the greater tragedy: the destruction of the merch or the architecturally-significant Koolhas building? I'm really sad I never went and visited now.

the Prada store in its former glory...alas, i never knew ye!

prada used to be one of my favorite "non-tourist" stops here - whenever friends from home came to visit i'd take them there as a perfect over the top new york experience. i actually walked past the back of the store on saturday, and was totally depressed to see all the equipment pumping out all the bad fumes (?) and burnt stuff out the back... so sad. it was such a cool place (not that i could afford anything there!)
