je suis fatigue
Dudes, I am tiiiiiired. I just got back into SF this morning from an early flight out of Cincinnati via Chicago (got picked up at my hotel at 4am Cincinnati time and arrived in SF at 10:30am--ack!). Basically did not go to bed last night and stayed up partying with some new friends in Cincy until I had to leave for the airport...will post more later along with photos. So I have officially finished with trip #4 out of a total of 5 trips in two months. I can't wait till these are all over so I can just sit down for a moment and just not do anything. Tired, oh so tired!
I also feel like moving. Been in SF for so many years now and despite my travel complaints have rather enjoyed seeing new towns and new atmospheres. The American "rust belt" states are pretty interesting with great old-school architecture. Plus, everything seems cheaper outside of this damn city (apart from NYC, that is), leading me to wonder if I'm being really stupid staying put and paying as much rent as I am. How about a farmhouse or bungalow in a cheaper town, only with superfast internet to keep my brain wired? The possibilities are myriad and rather tempting I might say...
OK, post later. time to watch TV and revel in my lack of energy today ;p

If you DO think about moving to a smaller town, make sure that you are close to a bigger city or move to a reeeally interesting university town. I too though that I could move to a remote place and be just fine (only boring people get bored, right?) but without access to a larger city an living in a univeristy town (whose main majors are engineering and agriculture) I proved myself wrong. yikes.
eeek! i hear ya! i wonder if i'm romaticizing this notion of "another place" and that the reality will be a much much different thing. but then again, i don't want to buy into the notion that you have to be in either LA or NYC to have an interesting and effective art practice...what's a gal to do?
ps--love your top (wink wink!) :D
Dang, travel queen! I can see why you are tired. What other trip do you have to do? I can relate to the idea of moving to a small town, but Kate makes a very good point about, at least, being close to a big city. Thankfully, that is an option around here.
I was just having this conversation with Valerie (dear birthday), trying to convince her to move to Cleveland. Very cheap, awesome museums, one of the best hospitals in the world, two major universities within 15 minutes of my house (along with four other colleges), small but active arts and music scene... It's actually pretty great here. But the weather! That might throw you. And it is very segregated, though racial tensions are not as high as in Detroit or Cinci I think. Man! I'm really talking up CLE lately.
Hi Katherine, I really wish I made it up to Cleveland, actually...I've never been there and wanted to check it out. Also, I loved the photos you posted the other day on your blog of the city, and you've definitely been quite a booster for it, so it's hard to resist ;) I thought of you when I was in Ohio...
Cincy was strange and interesting--granted, being there for only three days and within a particular scene the whole time, I'm sure I didn't get a sense of how it really works, but I did notice a high level of racial segregation and tensions between even those from Kentucky across the river, and local Cincinnati folks. Large parts of the city looked abandoned and boarded up and it seemed like what I heard Detroit is sort of like. Most white folks live up in the hills and I'm not sure how I would handle this type of stark divide.
Also, I'm a bit of a pansy when it comes to weather, eek!
Hey Victoria! I need to email you to ask you about how the fashion show on Thursday went--I'm sure you rocked it!
Must agree with Miss Kate (I mean... MRS!)... I am about to venture from Los Angeles to the country outside of Nashville. I can have a 4 bedroom house, crops, an archery course(no, seriously), and still head to Nashville when I feel like it. Memphis, Atlanta, etc. are all just a few hours away as well!
for some reason my outlook isn't working loved your creations and was wandering if you do wholesale? have a little shop and would like to rep it hit me @ pharfetcht@yahoo.com
