Anti-Factory RESTOCK: Hell-o Chickadee!

'Tis done: new stuff in the store! Fifteen items with lots of bold colors and graphics...And the chickadee fabric is back :)

(a little later...)
YOW! Things are selling *really* fast...I think it's because I posted during a workday and people who are sitting in front of their computers have their trigger fingers ready to go...wow...Usually I post in the evening and it's a nice steady trickle instead of a slam. Still some things left but sorry to those who have missed out on what they wanted, but keep checking back for new stuff down the pipeline! I promise!

bag making was getting really frustrating (mostly because the f*cking snaps kept breaking and summer heat makes it impossible for me to do anything but sit in front of the fan drinking smoothies and reading sweet sweet fiction). i think the problem is i don't feel comfortable charging how much the materials and labour actually cost. maybe i'll get more comfortable as time goes on but until then i think i'm going to make bags on a trade-only basis because i really love the whole process of trading.

i'm so happy i managed to nab the aqua-marine shirt! the colour os gorgous! the sleeve length! the collar detail! the long cuffs! yahoo!

Hey Stephanie, what is that great hand drawn-looking, blocky font that you used in your graphic? Does it have a name? It's great.

Sarah--ah! duh, i just realized that you bought the top with your guy's paypal account (rodney)...at first i was quite confused but NOW i got it :) thanks so much!!! for some reason I actually thought of you when I was making it because i know you're into the bold color combos--weird, huh? i'm not kidding, either...

as for the bag-making thing, that's actually why i stay away from doing them myself--all that hardware is really hard to do right and all my attempts haven't been that great. as for how much to charge, since it's personally handmade and not assembly-line work, you should definitely not feel weird about charging more, especially when you see how much "factory" bags can charge sometimes (ouch!). unfortunately, the retail clothiers are getting the public used to paying $12 for a new dress or top, but to pay real living wages and sustain individuals, it has to be different. talk soon...let me know where you may be moving for you guy's possible teaching position?

i zimbra, if you send me your email address (send to stephanie@anti-factory.com) I'll email you that blocky backwards font! i use a mac, though, so i'm not sure what you have...but i'll give you a copy. i love it too, and it pops up every now and then in my graphics :)

It is so frustrating because even at 5 1/2 months pregnant, I keep checking your website to see the fabulous colors and designs you put together. I can only wait to get back to my own self so that I can keep wearing my 2 killer Anti-factory tops and buy a few more pieces.!
