i was just looking at your 'material worlds' blog and libby black's paper sculpture stuff reminded me a lot of how in the 4th grade, my class had to make sculptures of california missions. most people made it out of clay, wood, legos, etc, but my family was really poor, so i had to resort to making mine out of paper! i was a little hesitant about it since i thought it wouldn't stand up to the elaborate wooden structures that parents helped my classmates make, but my teacher loved it, & it was the only one he asked to keep.
i know some (a lot) of your work deals with using cheap stuff to make knockoffs of things, so i thought you'd enjoy this little story of a young, real-life knockoff artist. :)
i like that, RATATAT will be in San Fransico, i got tix
