SFMOMA has a bienniale award show for "hot new SF artists" and this year two of my friends, amy franceschini and kota ezawa, were winners. For a night the museum was taken over by those of us who would ordinarily play quite far away from the place on a friday night...

jackie and joseph...jackie's just visiting for a spell from her artist residency in dublin. she also has an awesome curly mohawk with little hasidic curls at the sides...

After dinner and drinks I went to see Numbers play at the Elbo Room, then the next day visited friend Brendan at Eleanor Harwood Gallery.

yay! numbers!
this is a totally off-topic comment, but I was at the Los Angeles Craft and Folk art museum (seeing the AMAZING new show on healing), and they had some workshops you could sign up for, and one was to create knit-bags/purses. And it said:
"knit purses are all the rage right now, why not come and learn how to make one yourself?"

hey, that's not off-topic at all...i think i wanna check out that museum myself!

the new songs from the Numbers are sort of hit-or-miss. they seem to be going thru some kind of experimental transformation, and we'll see how it goes :)

hope you're well out there!
