foamboard,

A
graffiti-font version of my last name is built in tapered panels
so it looks like a 3D sculptural “projection”. I have
worked with this graffiti signature in recent projects to play
at creating my own “Mission School Alter-Ego” (I have
lived and worked in the Mission district for almost ten years
and am not considered in this category). This version tries to
pull in a variety of influences and multiple identities to question
categories of authorship and originality, referencing Mission
School art stardom, graffiti art, CAD and vector drawings, ex-San
Francisco artist Stephen Hendee, and finally, myself.
