"La Maison Tunisie (San Francisco)" and "La Maison Tunisie (Bejing)"
3x (Perriand)
Currently, I have remade twice Charlotte Perriand's 1950s Modernist shelving work "La Maison Tunisie" and I am seeking to have them shown in the same place at the same time (one resides in Beijing in the storage area of UniversalStudios Gallery, and one is in storage in my studio in San Francisco). I have also just found out that I mistakenly built them too small, so I want to rebuild a third version that will also be shown in conjunction with the original two. They are like doppelgangers and illicit copies--sisters in mistranslation.

Gucci #1 in progress, Gucci #2 installed in Beijing. Gucci #3 is currently being produced for a show at Kohler Art Center
3x (Gucci)
There are also three versions of the crocheted Gucci handbag that exist but have never been in the same place together due to being committed to different exhibitions at different times. They were created off of a single low-resolution image downloaded from the internet but made at different times using slightly different colors and techniques due to the materials that were on-hand. They were made by the same maker (me), however, which is the consistent factor and I'm curious to see how each of the three differs and yet are similar. As "serial originals" they are like the 3x Perriand project.
Untitled
Handmade cellphone (magazine ad, foam, tape, and battery). Collaboration made with artist Gail Pickering from London.
Allergy Drawing
Ballpoint pen on leg. Drawn by a nurse to delineate my allergic reaction to an unknown insect bite. June, 2004.
Fitty Fitty Cent
Wood, inkjet prints of jpgs downloaded from Amazon.com, plastic, tape, each approximately the size of a CD. 50 total. Like incredibly poor bootlegs.
Body Double
Study for a future project: to fully cover my body in temporary tattoos, sort of like being "hard core" but not really. A play on Japanese traditional full body tattoos. Will try to find a mix of gothic, heavy metal, patriotic, Asian-inspired (dragons, etc.) and girlie imagery.

Craftsman Redux
Work with the Craftsman furniture collection at the San Francisco deYoung Museum to attempt to recreate out of brown paper mache a nd cardboard a complete set of the handcrafted furniture.

Nature of Debate
Work with my screenwriter boyfriend to write out the dialogue of a heated argument that we have had in the past, replete with intense drama, crying, and screaming. Hire different sets of actors to play out the scenes and videotape them. Show tapes alongside each other on different monitors, playing roughly in synch.

Nature of Debate 2
Nix the actors and get other real-life couples to play our parts. Choose one couple that is similar-looking to us, one couple that is different-looking, and one with genders switched.

Welcome to the Jungle
Cut out little pictures of tropical foliage from magazines, glue them to stiff card, and place them upright on my living room couch such that they look like they are slowly taking over and growing over the surfaces.

Small Takeovers
Cut out small village scenes of huts downloaded from the internet and place them in various parts of my house. Photograph them as little encampments and encroaching takeovers.

Self-Protest
Stage a public protest against myself. Ask people who know me to contribute genuine slogans and signage for what they don't like about me and think should change. Spend time printing and designing the signage.

Counterfeit Crochet Project
Contact and hire home-based crocheters to make "copies" of designer items (handbags, scarves, accessories, etc.) based on jpgs that I download from the internet and send to them. Already begun here...

Untitled (Jewelry)
Create a set of sterling silver jewelry cast from cheap plastic toy jewelry. Make sure to keep all the "seams" and plastic-y looking parts in their original rough state.

Donate to an art auction:
--my entire CD collection as a bootleg set
--copies of my diaries from when I was little to very recent

All of Me
Create a full-color book using all the photographs and images I can find of me, even if it's just the back of my head or I'm hard to see. Update it every year to include new ones.

The Me in You
Collaborate with artist Alice Shaw: ask her to lend me one of the handmade bags she sells at craft fairs. I will copy it and create a "double" of it, attempting to complete the circle of Alice's own works relating to seeing herself in everyone else.

Mads Enveloped
Work with artist Mads Lynnerup to create a series of T-shirts that are silkscreened on the inside with security envelope patterns. One part of the chest will have a little plastic "window" cut-out just like a real business envelope so you can see inside.

Superstar
Make a studio recording of myself singing popular hits. Turn into MP3 files and upload them onto filesharing software in hopes that people will download them thinking they are the "real" thing.

Anti-Factory reconstructed clothing
My fashion design company specializing in making fab clothes out of crappy thrift store items!

China (UFO)
Go shopping at thrift stores for traditional English china (platters and saucers). Throw up into the air at a wide field of some kind and take photos using black and white high-speed film. Maybe will look like flying saucer photos, maybe not. But that's OK, too.

Untitled (Hair for Arnold Kemp)
Crochet a knit cap for artist Arnold Kemp based on photos of him when he had braids. Photograph him wearing his "old hairstyle" in a studio shot with a beautiful blue background.

Collaboration: Artist Fashion Workshop
Work with artists (who's work I like) to design, produce and sew a clothing line for them that reflects their artistic sensibilities or some kind of conceptual idea. Market them as limited-edition items. Sort of like a Fabric Workshop for artist fashion...

Karaoke Project
Rent an hour or two in a karaoke studio in Japantown to record my own CD. I'll be singing love songs in Tagalog (native Filipino language) which I don't know how to speak. Package my CD and sell as a limited edition.

Karaoke Project 2
Make OTHER people sing Filipino love songs (or pop songs) on video tape. No rehearsals allowed, just a straight run through with all seriousness.

Stock Photo Project
Create a CD of digital images from my own personal collection of images--very mundane and personal "my life" kind of stuff. Package it and sell it as stock photos to be used in any manner. It's kind of based on something I've already started: I've been uploading personal photos to free stock image websites and have already appeared on Webster's online dictionary and various other commercial websites. I am interested in the idea of the uncopyrighted image and the loss of control that happens once it is "out there".

Bling Bling
Big color photographs of hand-made rings cut out from Sears and JC Penney ads in the newspapers.
I want to stage a dance party where I dress all the visitors up in paper jewelry and then photograph them in the end when it's all tattered and falling off.

Stanford University 2004
A collaborative with Brendan Lott: a "found" dyptich of 2 framed posters purchased at a dorm room poster sale on the Stanford campus. One consists of a Mark Rothko reproduction, the other is a black and white image of Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, live in concert. Yet to be realized.
